WhatsApp chat viewer online

An exported WhatsApp chat is a .txt file, sometimes inside a .zip with the photos. Here's how to read it as a proper conversation instead of a wall of text.

Drop your export into the viewer. Texts for Court reads the .txt or the whole .zip in your browser and lays the chat out as a table: message number, date, time, sender and text. Messages that run over several lines stay together. You can save it as a PDF, which lists every attachment and checks that each file is in the zip. Nothing is uploaded. Viewing is free. The PDF is free for the first 40 messages, and $9 for the whole chat.

How to export the chat first

iPhone: chat → tap the name at the top → Export Chat. Android: chat → ⋮ → More → Export chat. Choose "Without media" for a small file or "Include media" for the photos too. Step-by-step for each phone →

Can I just open the .txt?

Yes. Any text editor will open it, and each line starts with the date and time. But long chats are hard to follow, and messages that span several lines get broken up. Photos show up only as file names like IMG-20261014-WA0001.jpg (file attached) or <attached: 00000012-PHOTO…>. The viewer reads both the iPhone and the Android export formats, and every date order: 14/10/2026, 10/14/26 and 14.10.26.

Can I see it back inside WhatsApp?

No. WhatsApp can't import an exported chat. Restoring a chat inside WhatsApp only works from WhatsApp's own Google Drive or iCloud backup, not from an export.
